you need to confirm when applying for cover. Here are a few

you aware of any medical condition or circumstances that
could reasonably be expected to give rise to a claim ?
- Have
you suffered from any chronic or recurring serious illness
during the 9 months prior to the commencement of this insurance
?
- Have
you or any person to be named on the policy, have ever been
refused travel insurance or had special terms imposed ?
- Have
you or any person to be named on the policy are aware of
any reason why a planned holiday will be cancelled or curtailed
?
- Are
you receiving, recovering from, or on a waiting list for,
in-patient treatment in a hospital or nursing home ?
- Are
you travelling against the advice of a doctor or in order
to get medical treatment abroad ?
- Are
you waiting for the results of tests or investigations for
an existing medical condition ?
- Have
you been diagnosed as having a terminal illness ?
Emergency Help
- Make
sure you are provided with immediate help if you are ill
or injured outside the United Kingdom or Channel Islands.
Check and see if they provide a 24-hour emergency service
365 days a year and where you can contact them.
- Make
a note of the emergency phone number/fax when you depart
on your trip.
- Make
sure your insurance certificate is validated before you
go and make a note of the certificate number in case your
policy is lost.
- In
the event of a claim, contact your insurance company as
soon as possible or they may not be able to guarantee medical
expenses.
Sports and hazardous activities
Please
make sure that you check your cover if you are going
to pursue any hazardous activities. Some activities
are automatically covered without paying any additional
premium, but some policies exclude any cover under it's

A few Travel Tips before your trip
- Always
carry cash on your person and use Travellers Cheques or
Credit Cards if possible, if cards are not required leave
them in a safe place.
- Make
sure all receipts for medical treatment and other expenses
are kept.

If your holiday is extended longer than anticipated,
make sure that your travel insurance will cover you
for the extended term - if not contact your provider
in plenty of time for renewal.
- In
the case of theft, advise police or appropriate authority
within 24 hours of discovery and obtain a written
report of any loss.
- Make
sure you get a report from the airline if your property
is delayed or damaged in transit.
- Always
drink bottled water and avoid ice in your drinks if you
are not sure of the state of the local water supply.
- Avoid
uncooked food unless you are sure it is safe.
- Wear
a sun hat or scarf, use the appropriate clothing in the
sun and use protective sun cream for your skin type and
drink plenty of fluids.
- Before
you dive check that swimming pools and the sea area are
deep enough for diving.
- Do
not go over your duty free allowance.
